Below is a complete list of what to expect and how to prepare for bringing your puppy home.

🍼 Age & Health

Your puppy will be 8 weeks or older when they go home.

At 8 weeks, each puppy has received one set of vaccinations — the 5-way (DA2PP) shot.

🍼 Age & Health

Your puppy will be 8 weeks or older when they go home.

At 8 weeks, each puppy has received one set of vaccinations — the 5-way (DA2PP) shot.

Puppies are completely up to date on worming at the time of pickup.

Each puppy has been started on doggy-door training for basic potty manners.

> Important Note:

Even if your puppy is fully up to date on vaccinations at the time of pickup, they are not yet immune to Parvo, Distemper, or other contagious illnesses.

Puppies only begin to develop full immunity after their 16-week vaccination, which is their final DA2PP shot.

At that same visit, your veterinarian should also administer your puppy’s rabies vaccination.

Until that time, avoid public dog parks, pet stores, and areas where other dogs frequent to help keep your puppy safe.

🧻 Potty Training

If your home does not have a doggy door, please have puppy pads ready for the transition period.

Puppies are used to going outside, so patience and consistency are key during the first few weeks.

🥣 Feeding Information

To help your puppy adjust smoothly, it’s very important not to change their food right away.

Keep them on the food they are currently eating for at least the first month.

We will notify you of the exact brand and formula when you pick up your puppy.

Feeding Stages (Example):

8–10 weeks: Purina Pro Plan Complete Puppy Formula

10–16 weeks: Transition to Purina Pro Plan Tender & Crunchy

4–6 months: Move to Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy

> ⚠️ Please note: Feeding stages may change and differ greatly for each individual puppy.

Always follow the specific instructions given at pickup for your puppy’s diet and feeding schedule.

The stages above are only a general example.

Feed according to the directions on the bag, adjusting slightly based on your puppy’s size and activity level.

🍪 Treats

No treats until 10 weeks old.

After 10 weeks, you may introduce:

Rawhide chews (supervised)

Training cookies

Purina training treats (in moderation)

Avoid switching brands or introducing new foods until your puppy’s stomach has adjusted.

🛒 Recommended Supplies

✔️ Crate or puppy playpen

✔️ Puppy pads (if no doggy door)

✔️ Stainless-steel food and water bowls

✔️ Collar and leash (adjustable)

✔️ Dog brush and gentle puppy shampoo

✔️ Soft blanket or bed

✔️ Purina Pro Plan food (matching their current formula)

✔️ ID tag with your contact information

✔️ Vet appointment scheduled within 72 hours of pickup

🎁 What We Provide at Pickup

At the time of pickup, your puppy will go home with:

A harness and leash

A starter supply of the dog food they are currently eating

Their vaccination and worming records

AKC registration papers

A signed purchase contract

Any personal items they are accustomed to, such as a favorite toy, blanket, or comfort item from their litter

We do this to make your puppy’s transition as smooth and comforting as possible.

💬 Important Reminders

Keep your puppy’s environment calm for the first few days.

Supervise children and other pets during introductions.

Follow the vaccination schedule provided with your puppy’s health records.

Limit exposure to other dogs until your vet confirms your puppy’s vaccinations are complete.
